MANISTEE ARTS AND CULTURE WEBSITE LAUNCHED !
Manistee County, Michigan -- If you’re interested in Manistee County artists, information about museums, exhibits, shows and festivals, look no further than a new website, launched after six months of development by the Arts and Culture Alliance (ACA) of Manistee County.
The new website is http://www.allartsmanistee.com . The website was made possible through a partnership with West Shore Community College and funded by a $10,000 grant from the Manistee County Community Foundation .
“Throughout Michigan, the country and the world, arts and cultural resources are essential to the economic well-being and quality of life of communities,” said Cindy Asiala who chairs the Board of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Manistee County. “Manistee County’s natural resources and cultural diversity support a wonderfully diverse and growing arts and cultural community that makes our County different from all others. Whether you have a passion or a passing interest in Manistee County’s arts and culture, this website and our organization exist to serve your needs.”
The ACA grew out of the Envision Manistee County process and was forged to promote and support the wide variety of arts and culture in Manistee County. Membership is open to arts and culture organizations and to individuals who support its goals. Membership in ACA benefits organizations and artists by promoting their activities through the ACA website, publications, and other media outlets. Furthermore, the ACA is a positive asset in researching and securing grants for its membership.
Memberships are vital to help meet the goal of supporting the arts and culture activities in Manistee County. The application form can be downloaded from the website:http://www.allartsmanistee.com or requested by calling Cindy Asiala at 231-362-3480.
Arts and Culture enthusiasts are invited to attend ACA’s Ice Breaker on Jan 17, 2009 starting at 4pm at the Brown Town Hall. Get together with present and potential ACA members for potluck dinner, music and drama. The goal is to ignite enthusiasm and momentum for the dynamic arts and culture of Manistee County.
