CONSULTANT SOUGHT FOR MANISTEE COUNTY BRANDING PROJECT

Manistee, Michigan – The Alliance for Economic Success (AES) and a “Branding Leadership Team” have issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking proposals from qualified consultants to develop and implement a branding and brand marketing project for Manistee County.

The goal of the project is develop a brand and brand identity system for Manistee County that will support marketing goals involving economic and community development, including business development, tourism and recreation promotion, community strategic plans and more. The involvement of interests throughout the County will be sought in developing and implementing the project.

The project has two phases, a development phase where a brand and brand identity will be established based upon input from within and outside Manistee County and an implementation phase where the consultant will help in marketing the County by using the brand identity. The consultant will also mentor communities, businesses, nonprofits and others on the use and application of the brand.

Funding for the project was secured in part under a $40,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture written by AES staff. Additional funding will be sought based upon a work plan to be developed by the selected consultant and the Branding Leadership Team. Leadership Team members include Judy Ball, Jim Draze, Cathy Fairbanks, Cyndy Fuller, Ray Schmidt and Amy Wojciechowski. The Team will review RFQ responses, interview candidates and hammer out a final work plan with the selected consultant.

Responses must be received at the AES office by no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
