Education, Data, & Outreach-understand and communicate where the critical need is in order to strategically target resources and achieve public consensus.

Planning & Policy-coordinate and create planning & zoning tools to encourage greater housing choices and position communities to be in a state of readiness.

Funding & Incentives-Encourage private, public, and non-profits to utilize incentives and find alternative funding sources.

Programming-work to coordinate and educate about existing programming: to help people of all income levels stay in their homes and to keep properties well kept and habitable.

aes trails


AES helps create recreation plans that service the long term goals of the communities we work with. Community assets vary inside every community. Each community has their own unique recreation vision to suite their residents needs.

AES excels in interpretation of a communities needs, and we strive to develop plans that go above and beyond in planning and implementation.

Funding for trails is provided through the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant Program. The grant match is a minimum of 25% of the funds sought for the project. AES assists communities by writing the grants and providing grant administration services. We also work with communities to maximize their match funding efforts in creative ways.

Explore The Shores

Explore the Shores is a network of sites designed to provide barrier-free accessibility, educational opportunities and a connection to recreation and fishing in Manistee County, where fresh water is in abundance.

In its inception, the program was the result of Manistee County being chosen by Easter Seals for implementation of its Rural Solutions Project, funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Since then, it has grown into a collaborative effort of public and private organizations facilitated by the Manistee County Community Foundation and the Alliance for Economic Success that recognize the most vital resource Manistee County has to offer is its water.
