AES continues to promote economic development through highlighting our rich abundance of natural resources throughout the area. We have been working diligently with several communities to add universal accessibility and facilities to provide easy access to enjoy natural resources.

Little Manistee River Weir- Grant submitted for development of universally accessible fishing pier, kayak/canoe launch and pathways to increase access to the park so residents and visitors can enjoy and learn about the DNR’s egg-taking operation, learn about Michigan’s fisheries and enjoy the abundance of natural resources in the area.

Pleasanton Township- Grant submitted for development project to include restroom facilities, swimming platform and other amenities to create a day use park.

City of Frankfort- Grant submitted for development that includes a new restroom facility, an outdoor shower station and beach and water access via mobi mat and other amenities.

Bellows Park in Frankfort- Development of restrooms, swimming dock and canoe/kayak launch at Bellows Park on Crystal Lake to increase access to swimming, fishing, non-motorized boating and other outdoor recreational activities on Michigan’s 9th largest inland lake.
